Eligible and ineligible uses can be found in the Grant Guidelines and on the website at www.firstchildrensfinance.org/for-businesses/Minnesota-grants.
Facility Revitalization Grants are not guaranteed and are competitive based on all applications received in each cycle. Funds will be distributed across each region of the state.
Applications are limited to one application per license per grant cycle. Providers who wish to add to their submission must request that their application be opened for editing.
Child care businesses may have one active grant at a time. Recent grantees for the MN Access to Technology grant must complete their purchase, submit report with receipt(s) and photos, and where required, pay any applicable invoice prior to applying for a facility revitalization grant.
Applications must be submitted by 4:59 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, as the grant portal closes promptly at 5:00 p.m.
Technical Assistance
Grant assistance is available by emailing grants@firstchildrensfinance.org. A help line is also available at 612-473-6020. It is answered live from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during each period that the grant program is open for applications, and voice mails are returned at all other times. Interpreter Services are available by calling this number or can be arranged via email.
Messages may be sent to the grants team through the application portal. Grant funds may only be spent on approved items as noted in award notification letters.
Timing and Report Requirement
Applicants should apply only for projects that are ready to implement upon grant award notification, as a final report is due no later than May 15, 2026. Grant funds not spent by the report due date must be returned to FCF immediately. A single extension of up to 15 days may be possible but is not guaranteed.
Down payments made prior to grant award notification and return of a signed grant agreement will disqualify a grant award and will require the return of funds for that item or project. Please carefully consider what can be completed in the time allowed without a signed contract or money down before receiving a grant award.
This grant is being offered to all licensed or certified child care businesses, legally non-licensed, and in limited circumstances, start-up businesses that are very close to opening.
