Minnesota Access to Technology - Business Management Grants are available to licensed child care providers in Minnesota. Minimum grant size is $100 and maximum grant size is $1,000.
The State of Minnesota has allocated limited funds for licensed child care businesses in Minnesota to access technology TO IMPROVE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT EFFICIENCY. Grants may be requested for connectivity, new equipment used for business management, accounting/spreadsheet or CCMS software, and training in these areas.
Applicants who are new to technology may call 612-473-6020 for help in completing the application or to request a paper application.
Paper applications must be received by April 10, 2026 to be considered during grant review.
Priority will be given to child care businesses that currently have no or limited technology resources, particularly those who live in state-defined Child Care Access Equity Areas. MN Access to Technology - Business Management grants are not guaranteed and are competitive based on all applications received in each cycle. Funds will be distributed across each region of the state.
Applications are limited to one application per license per grant cycle. Providers who wish to add to or edit their submission must request that their application be opened for editing.
Applications must be submitted (and any edits completed) by 4:59 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, as the grant portal closes promptly at 5:00 p.m.
Grant application assistance is available by emailing grants@firstchildrensfinance.org. A help line is also available at 612-473-6020. It is answered live from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during each period that the grant program is open for applications, and voice mail messages left for the grant team will be returned - usually within one business day. Calls at other times may be available by appointment. Interpreter Services are available by calling this number or can be arranged via email.

Messages may be sent to the grants team through the application portal. Grant funds may only be spent on approved items as noted in award notification letters, and no expense may be incurred prior to receipt of an award letter and return of a signed grant agreement.
Timing and Report Requirement
If a grant is awarded, the grant will be paid up front. A final report will be due within 60 days of the grant agreement deadline, including paid-in-full receipts and photo documentation. Grant funds not spent within 60 days must be returned to FCF immediately. Limited extensions may be possible for supply chain issues, providing orders were promptly placed.
